Each year the hostel is built up from scratch. And in just a few weeks time a whole world is being created. Whether you already work in construction, you are a handy-(wo)man in your spare time, or you are very keen on learning new skills, we have a spot for you in the build-up team.
At the end of the season our beautiful campsite needs to be put in boxes, bags, crates and whatever container you can think of. Doing this the right way, saves us from having troubles setting up the next year. Do you like to take initiative and can you spot work without having it pointed out to you constantly, then you are the (wo)man we are looking for to help us out with the build-down!
During the build-up period, each day your tasks will vary between laying electricity and setting up water supply, building different kinds of tents, creating the main area, putting up the skate ramps and decorating the campsite. At Progress we try to reuse and recycle what we have, so instead of running to the store for new supplies every time we expect our team to use their creativity in building up with low impact.
After the season we will take the camp down again. Everything needs to be transported back to our warehouse and safely stored until the year after. Tasks will vary daily and after hours there will be plenty of time to enjoy the last days of summer and surfing with the team.
